ABOUT YFC

Youth for Christ is a worldwide Christian movement working with young people around the globe. Motivated by our faith in Jesus Christ we share the good news with young people.

Youth for Christ is made up of tens of thousands of full-time, part-time and volunteer indigenous staff in more than 100 nations working together in giving every young person an opportunity to be a follower of Jesus Christ.

What do Youth for Christ programs look like? It’s like asking what the weather is like in the USA or Europe. It all depends on where you are. Youth for Christ uniquely reaches young people in ways that are relevant to them in the context of their culture and life circumstances.

Rev. Victor B. Dean

Rev. Victor B. Dean was appointed as the first staff member in 1967 by the national board. In 1969 he was appointed national board and served in that role until 1981. The mission of youth evangelism was carried out in six cities through youth rallies, camps, and seminars. Rev. Dean resigned at the end of 1981 and YFC Pakistan declined. In 1995 Rev. Dean was called upon to lead YFC again and he served three years. He established YFC ministry in Multan, Sahiwal, Okara, Quetta, Abbottabad, and Karachi.

Randy Beaverson

In 2008, Randy Beaverson, US Liason Director for the Asia-Pacific, was challenged to restart YFC in Pakistan. He appointed Rev. Andrew Injily (pictured here) as first staff member. Rev. Andrew was appointed national coordinator in 2009 during a YFC opening event in Gujranawala, then national director in 2013 YFC has established five different ministries and a national board and is registered with the government.

Rt. Rev. Chandu Ray

Rt. Rev. Chandu Ray (Bishop of Karachi Diocese) visited the USA where he heard about YFC. He was very interested in youth and introduced YFC ministry in Pakistan in 1964. As a volunteer, he worked very hard to establish the YFC Pakistan National board.

As part of the body of Christ, to see that every young person in every people group in every nation has the opportunity to make an informed decision to be a follower of Jesus Christ and become part of the local church.

Strategic Focus

Youth for Christ reaches young people everywhere, working together with the local church and other like-minded partners to raise up lifelong followers of Jesus who are characterized by godliness in lifestyle, devotion to the Word of God and prayer, boldness in evangelism and commitment to social involvement.

Evangelism & Discipleship

We are committed to taking the Gospel of Jesus Christ to all young people and always seek to do so with urgency, using the most culturally acceptable means. We are further committed to provide a ministry of discipleship for each new believer, and to work in partnership with others who desire to accomplish the same mission.

Scripture

We are committed to the Word of God as the foundation and final authority for life and ministry. We discipline ourselves to study it diligently, apply it daily, and teach its truth to young people.

Prayer

We are committed to pray and fast for the salvation of lost young people and for the empowerment of God’s Holy Spirit in taking the Gospel of Jesus Christ to them.

Church

Believing that the Church is the expression of the body of Christ, we are committed to working in partnership with the local church in fulfilling the Great Commission of Jesus Christ.

People

We are committed to people. We believe that young people, volunteers, board members, ministry partners, staff and their families are important first as individuals, and all are vital in the fulfilment of the mission.

Mobilisation

Knowing the size and urgency of the task, we are committed to mobilising all the available resources of young people, adults, prayer and finances to accomplish the mission.

Integrity

We are committed to a life of integrity through personal and organisational accountability in lifestyle, relationships, finances, ministry management and responsible evangelism.
